MEDENER is a nonprofit international organization comprising agencies from the Mediterranean region focused on public policies for energy efficiency and renewable energy. It implementsregional projects to facilitate the sharing of know-how and best practices among members and international partners, and to accelerate the transfer of skills, methods, and technologies in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
RECREEE is an intergovernmental organization promoting renewable energy and energyefficiency in the Arab region. Partnering with regional governments and global organizations, it leads clean energy policy dialogues, strategies, technology adoption, and capacity development to boost the Arab states’ future energy share. Key areas of focus include capacity development, policies and regulations, research and statistics, and technical assistance.
French Environment & Energy Management Agency
ADEME implements public policies on the environment, energy, and sustainable development. It aims to foster and innovate for a sustainable and inclusive energy transition and contributes to collective expertise in this field. Partnering with other national energy agencies, ADEMEundertakes actions on building regulation, energy efficiency in industries and social buildings,and raising awareness.
Portuguese Energy Agency
ADENE is a private nonprofit organization, recognized as a public interest institution, promoting efficient use of energy and water. Its mission is to lead the energy transition towards a competitive, sustainable, low-carbon economy. ADENE provides technical assistance for evaluating energy efficiency measures, manages the ADENE Academy to train experts in energy certification of buildings, and participates in collaborative R&D innovation projects.
Lebanese Association For Energy Saving And For Environment
ALMEE is a politically independent nonprofit association dedicated to managing energy and environmental projects and technologies globally, with a focus on the Mediterranean Basin. Its goal is to promote scientific methods for better energy and economic policies, especially regarding renewable energy, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas emissions. ALMEE collaborates with local, regional, and international partners to develop sustainable energy, environmental policies and practices.
Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency
Established in 2016, AMEE is a public institution covering the entire energy efficiency sector value chain in Morocco. As one of the Kingdom’s 39 strategic public institutions, AMEE proposes laws and standards, designs, initiates, and pilots integrated sectoral programs to support government energy efficiency policies. Its Marrakesh site features a technology platform with a PV laboratory, a thermal laboratory, and a training centre specializing in energy efficiency.
Tunisian National Agency for Energy Management
Under the Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies, ANME implements national energy policy, aiming to diversify energy sources by promoting energy efficiency and supporting renewable energies. ANME manages the Energy Transition Fund (FTE), providing subsidies for renewable energy investments and efficient energy use. It also has extensive experience managing projects with national and international partners.
Algerian National Agency for The Promotion and Rationalization of Energy Use
APRUE, a public industrial and commercial institution under the Ministry of Energy, develops, implements, and monitors national energy efficiency programs. It aims to execute the National Energy Efficiency Programme, raise awareness, disseminate information on energy efficiency to stakeholders, and establish sector-specific energy efficiency projects and programs in collaboration with relevant sectors such as industry, construction, and transport.
CRES, the Greek Centre for Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Rational Use of Energy (RUE), and Energy Savings (ES), is a financially and administratively independent public entity. It serves as a Research and Technological Centre, researching new energy technologies and supporting their market adoption. As a National Energy Centre, CRES works on energy planning and policy for RES and ES. CRES has participated in over 1,000 European, national, and international projects.
Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy fnd Sustainable Economic Development
ENEA, the Italian public body for research and technological innovation, specializes in energy, environment, and sustainable economic development, with a focus on energy efficiency (EE), renewable energy sources, and nuclear energy. It serves as the National Agency for Energy Efficiency, offering consulting services and technical assistance to local governments. ENEA holds the Presidency of MEDENER and the European Energy Network of European Agencies.
IDAE, a Public Business Entity under Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, is tasked with advancing the country’s goals in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and low-carbon technologies. It conducts promotional and training activities, provides technical consulting, develops specific programs, and finances innovative and replicable technical projects. IDAE actively engages through various European programs and cooperation with third countries.
Established in 1993, the Palestinian Energy and Environment Research Centre (PEC) is a national R&D institute focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and environmental impact. As the national focal point for renewable energy development and climate protection, PEC coordinates efforts in Palestine. Under new reforms, PEC operates under the Palestinian Energy Authority, supervised by its president.
NERC was founded to advance research, development, and training in new and renewable energy, elevate energy use standards across sectors, and promote renewable energy adoption in Jordan to alleviate economic sector energy costs. Its primary aim is to enforce energy efficiency standards in sectors like industry and buildings and aid key market actors in reducing overall energy consumption.
The Energy and Water Agency is a Government Agency established within the Ministry for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development.
